Originally from Essex, Missouri, Area Properties founder and former owner-broker Jera Lincoln developed a flair for buying and selling houses while making numerous successful moves with her husband, Jimmy. A native of Sikeston, he coached basketball in several Missouri towns before returning to Sikeston in 1998. The couple lived in Springfield, St. Louis, Hannibal and Jefferson City, and added three sons to their family.

"We traveled and moved around so much, I could be a tour guide for the state. We bought and sold a lot of property. I was interested in real estate because I had to be able to buy something I could turn over. I was always checking the listings, and I always had my eye on the market," she says. "I guess I developed a flair for it, and it became an obsession with me."

Jera decided to follow her heart into real estate. She enjoys developing relationships with buyers and sellers alike, to give them the most complete and professional service possible. She understands quality service and tries to give clients and customers what they want with a since of urgency, integrity, and professionalism.

As a native of the region and a stakeholder in its future as a businesswoman and property owner, Jera is interested in helping Sikeston grow and prosper. "I'm very interested in the development of industry in Sikeston." Looking at the aerial photographs of the region that are framed in her office, she says, "I think there is plenty of room for growth."

Lincoln is a member of the Mutual Association of Real Estate Practitioners, Inc. (MAREP) and the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Southwest Baptist University, she holds a bachelor's degree in psychology.
